Job Description

Community Church Roselawn approaches the Gospel with a traditional focus on salvation preached in a contemporary style. We foster a community of outreach, welcoming believers, the unchurched, and the disenfranchised. We aim to live out our vision of “Lives transformed by Christ” through the impact we have on our greater community and by bringing the unchurched into contact with believers, where the Gospel is demonstrated by the love of our congregation and in the preaching of God’s word. We provide many opportunities for service, community, education, and growth, as we walk the path of becoming more Christ-like.

Under the general direction of the council and express direction of the elders, the lead pastor provides spiritual and organizational leadership. The lead pastor serves as teacher and vision leader for the congregation as we seek to fulfill our mission of “Developing authentic relationships with Jesus Christ.” The lead pastor serves as head of the staff, building a strong leadership team, and holds a central position on the board of elders.

Essential duties and responsibilities   

• Preaching and Teaching as the primary voice in Sunday worship services
• Vision and Strategic Leadership
• Pastoral Care, including hospital visitation, emergency pastoral needs, premarital counseling, wedding, funerals, etc.
• Head of full-time and part-time staff
