Generosity Initiative
Please read this letter from Kingdom Network Global Board President, Rev. Bob Bouwer. In the letter he introduces a New Kingdom Network initiative:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ of the Kingdom Network,
We are excited to share a new opportunity for the Kingdom Network to unite and advance the gospel together. As members of Kingdom Network churches, we are united by our shared mission, vision, and values, and we see God at work. We have seen remarkable growth and blessings within our network, welcoming several wonderful churches and expanding our reach. In light of this we ask you to do two things:
- Pray for the Kingdom Network: Please pray for God’s blessings on our work together..
- Give to the Kingdom Network: Consider supporting the Kingdom Network financially through a new initiative we are calling The Generosity Initiative. Our goal is to raise $500,000 over the next two years, in addition to our regular support, to provide a strong financial base for our ministry.
Why The Generosity Initiative? We are thrilled with what God is doing in the Kingdom Network and believe He will continue to do extraordinary work through this movement. We want to plan for growth without creating a financial burden for local churches. Our current Partnership Support (our term for assessments) covers our basic operations (a lean staff, administrative expenses, communication, global gatherings, etc.). We aim to avoid raising partnership support for local churches (set at $7.50/member starting in 2025). Ideally, we would like to lower it if possible. Our current budget is lean, and we need resources for:
- Leadership development for pastors, elders, deacons, and staff.
- Scholarships for students preparing for ministry.
- Support for church planters, international churches, and urban or rural mission churches that can’t afford partnership support.
- Responding to Winds of the Spirit (Divine Opportunities that God places before us).
- Maintaining a modest Contingency Fund for wise stewardship.
- Modestly increasing support staff as needed.
While we are committed to maintaining a lean financial structure, we recognize that financial challenges could hinder the work and growth of the Kingdom Network and our churches. We believe the Generosity Initiative addresses these needs and will support a growing ministry over the next several years.
As you consider how you and your church might respond, here are some ideas:
- Prayerfully approach your board, consistory, or leadership team, or significant donors, for a one-time contribution to strengthen our financial foundation.
- Consider having a yearly Kingdom Network Sunday to highlight our shared Covenant and take a Love Offering.
As the President of this movement and a pastor, I plan to do this and hope you will join me in building a strong financial foundation for our work together. If you have questions about The Generosity Initiative, please don’t hesitate to contact me, another Global Board member, or Dave Izenbart (Kingdom Network Movement Leader: dave@KingdomNetworkUSA.org) or Rich Bawinkel (Kingdom Network Administrator: rich@KingdomNetworkUSA.org). Gifts to the Generosity Initiative can be sent to: Kingdom Network, ℅ Rich Bawinkel, Faith Church, 100 81st Avenue, Dyer, IN 46311.
In His Grip,
Bob Bouwer, Global Board President
